No Points Penalty For Sadler Team
Elliott Sadler’s NASCAR Nationwide
Series-leading team escaped without a championship point penalty today, when
NASCAR sanctioned the team for a body violation discovered during pre-race
inspection for last weekend’s race at Richmond International Raceway.
Sadler’s One Main Financial
Chevrolet team was one of six teams – three from Richard Childress Racing and
three from Turner Motorsports -- forced to remove the nose pieces from their
cars when NASCAR officials determined they had been altered from their stock
condition. Sadler finished sixth Friday night at RIR and saw his championship
lead trimmed to just two points over defending series champion Ricky Stenhouse,
Jr.
