Ray Evernham, NASCAR
legend and ESPN racing analyst, has been in the top 10 more times than he can count.
The selection of his 1964 Plymouth Belvedere ForPly to the top 10 of the 2013
Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, however, is an entirely different type of honor.
Evernham and his team
designed and built a street-legal 1964 Plymouth Belvedere that combines old
school American style with modern NASCAR racing technology – his first such
project. The car immediately turned heads and has quickly gained accolades from
racing and non-racing enthusiasts alike.
Hot Rod magazine has
named the ForPly one of its Top 10 cars at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale
auction, and on Saturday, he will present the ForPly as one of the legendary
auction’s featured vehicles. The caris listed in lot number 1394 and will be
offered with no reserve, with bidding to be featured live as part of SPEED
Channel’s live coverage.
Net proceeds from the
sale will go to Evernham Family Racing for a Reason and IGNITE, a new program
and facility in Davidson, N.C. operated by the Autism Society of North
Carolina. IGNITE enables adults with High-Functioning Autism or Asperger
Syndrome to enjoy a better quality of life as valued members of the community
in which they live and work.

Ray always has so much Class and Honour in everything he does...I hope they get a bidder that appreciates the attention to detail that this car surely has.

Okay, I'm not really a Chrysler guy, but that is one HOT car. I'll bet the hammer drops at well over $300,000. I really hope that Ray designs more cars.
