Gilliland's
entry will feature five Big Machine recording artists: The Band Perry, Justin
Moore, The Mavericks, Greg Bates and RaeLynn. All five bands and artists will
also participate in the weekend's at-track festivities. Big Machine will also
sponsor David Gilliland No. 38 Ford in the Crown Royal presents 'Your Hero's
Name Here 400' at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com.
"I'm a big
country music fan," said Gilliland. "It's really exciting to have
some of the biggest names in country music on our No. 38 car at Indianapolis.
I'm a big fan of all of Big Machine's artists. My daughter has recently turned
me on to Taylor Swift and my wife and I have been longtime Rascal Flatts fans."
As part of the
sponsorship program, Front Row Motorsports and Big Machine Records will
introduce a Racecars and Country Stars social media promotion, in which
fans will be able to enter to win Gilliland’s race-used firesuit and prizes
from Big Machine recording artists. More information on the promotion will be
available in the coming weeks.
"I've
always loved racing," commented Scott Borchetta, CEO of Big Machine
Records, who has experienced the sport as a short-track racer, where he won
three championships, and most recently, as a sponsor of some of racing's
biggest names. "I've had the chance to sponsor a few great cars before and
our company enjoys being part of the race weekends here at Indianapolis. Front
Row Motorsports came to us with a value-laden program that included a
compelling idea for a social media promotion and we decided to take advantage
of the opportunity."
Big Machine
Records has been to victory lane twice at Indianapolis, taking home
Indianapolis 500 wins as a sponsor in 2011 with the late Dan Wheldon and again
in 2012 with Dario Franchitti. The July 29th race will be
Gilliland's fifth career start at the historic racetrack.
Big Machine’s artist
roster includes Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Reba, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride,
The Band Perry, Eden's Edge, Ella Mae Bowen, Justin Moore, Brantley Gilbert,
Jewel, The Mavericks, Thomas Rhett, Eli Young Band, Sunny Sweeny, Greg Bates
