Allgaier Tops Bristol Nationwide Qualifying

Justin Allgaier topped the speed charts in qualifying for this afternoon’s Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. His BRANDT Chevrolet  turned a fast lap in 15.380 seconds, at 124.759 mph to claim his fourth NNS pole in his 145th career start. His last pole came at Gateway International Raceway in October of 2010, 73 races ago. 

Austin Dillon will start ion the outside of the front row today, followed by series point leader Sam Hornish Jr. and Regan Smith in Row Two. Elliott Sadler, Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, Brian Scott, Mike Bliss and Trevor Bayne completed the Top-10 qualifiers. 

Three drivers failed to qualify for today’s race; Morgan Shepherd, Danny Efland and Joey Gase. Gase did not make a qualifying attempt after crashing his only car in practice Friday.

  1. SHJ is riding some momentum. Looks like he's finally settling into these stock cars. Having watched him in the IRL, he is on his way to being the "newest" force to be reckoned with. Good on him too, for hanging in there through last years mess.

    What he went through last year, would crush many competitor's spirits. The Man from Defiance, is no such pushover.

    Looking forward to how this season plays out. Its early yet, but he's is showing great promise.
