"Rockin' Rodney" Ready To Roll At Hickory

After an impressive debut in the Trinity Oaks Senior Living Community/KOMA Unwind Ford at South Boston Speedway, Rockin’ Rodney Brooks is hungry for more Saturday night in the “Over The Mountain 150 Presented by CV Products” at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, North Carolina.

Brooks drove the Trinity Oaks/KOMA Unwind Super Late Model from 22nd on the starting grid to an eight-place finish at South Boston (VA) Speedway on Aug. 31, and has high hopes for an even better finish Saturday night.

“We had a great run at South Boston and an even better test at Hickory last week,” said Brooks. “The car was fast right off the trailer, and (crew chief) Jim Gallison, Jr. made some adjustments that had us flying. You never know how things will turn out on race day, but with a little bit of luck, I think we’re capable of a Top-5 run Saturday night, or even a win.”

Brooks will have plenty of support in the Hickory grandstands, as Trinity Oaks Senior Living Community brings two busloads of residents and staff to the event. “We can’t wait for Saturday night,” said Ann Pressly, Director of Marketing for Trinity Oaks. “Everyone is excited to do a little pre-race tailgating, before cheering Rockin’ Rodney and the #30 Trinity Oaks Ford on to victory. It’s going to be a great night!”

The PASS South Super Late Models will headline a four-division race program, along with the PASS Pro Late Models, CCS Modifieds and Legends cars. Time trial qualifying begins at 4:30 pm, with feature racing at 6:00.
