Kurt Busch
will be behind the wheel of the No. 18 Shore Lodge Tundra in Saturday’s VFW 200
at Michigan International Speedway, with the driver lineup for the remaining
races that Leffler was scheduled to drive to be determined at a later date.
"How
things have played out this season are not Jason's fault -- we've had some bad
luck and a few other misfortunate (sic) happenings -- but when it comes down to it,
the No. 18 team has not performed to the standards we've become accustomed to,”
said team owner Kyle Busch. “We owe it to our manufacturer and our sponsors to
produce better results.
“Beginning to
make these changes now, instead of waiting until the end of the season, will
allow us to evaluate where our program stands as we begin working toward
becoming a championship-contending team once again in 2013. Jason represented
KBM and all of our sponsors very well and we wish him the best of luck."
Brian Scott is
scheduled to be behind the wheel of the No. 18 Tundra at Bristol Motor Speedway
on Aug. 24 and for three other races this season. Drew Herring will make his
Truck Series debut in the September race at Iowa Speedway in Newton.
I hope Kurt can pull the ride around- but it seems as if the bad luck is just mounting on Kyle's shoulders this year- he has phenomenal talent and is the future of this sport-him devoting himself to his own personal teams just solidifies his desire to race! I hope only for the best for the Busch brothers and if NASCAR keeps screwing them around they will loose a key fan base to their sport!

ReplyDeleteJeb Burton needs a truck to drive
ReplyDeleteGood on Kyle, back behind the wheel where he belongs. I hope JGR sees the error of their ways for next season and let him drive the full season again.
ReplyDeleteDoug from below the oil sprayed NY, NJ
kyle's a cup driver, he doesn't belong anywhere near the truck or nationwide series, except on the sidelines. same goes for kurt busch, keselowski, edwards, harick, logano, hamlin, etc.
DeleteToo bad for Leffler. KBM was really good because Kyle was behind the wheel. They'll get another good driver soon though.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't say KYLE is driving the truck. Kurt is driving it in Michigan.
