NASCAR K&N West
standout Kelly Admiraal will make his first start with RAB Racing for 2014 at
Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 15th driving the No. 29
Swan Rentals Toyota Camry. The 18 year-old driver, a native of Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada, will make just his second NASCAR Nationwide Series start, the
first coming at Phoenix International Raceway in November of 2013. Admiraal
plans to compete in multiple races in the No. 29 Swan Rentals Toyota Camry for
RAB Racing throughout the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series season.
Swan Rentals is a
premier provider of equipment rental solutions to the Energy and Commercial
Construction Industries in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. They supply
rental equipment such as matting, tank farms, oilfield equipment, construction and
rig mats.
Admiraal, who most
recently competed in the K&N West race at Phoenix International Raceway,
was running in the third position with just a small handful of laps remaining
until a flat right-front tire relegated the Canadian native to a 19th
place finish. In just seven starts in the NASCAR K&N West Series, Admiraal
has two Top-10 finishes, coming at Phoenix and Sonoma in 2013.
"I'm really excited
to have this opportunity with RAB Racing along with the support of Swan
Rentals," said driver Kelly Admiraal. "Swan came on board for 2014
and I'm honored to be able to represent them this weekend in Bristol. Having
this opportunity to race at the famed Bristol Motor Speedway is a dream come
true! Over the past couple of months I've been able to spend some time in
Concord at the RAB Racing facility and get to know crew chief Matt Lucas. Lucas
is definitely a huge asset to me and this team, they are definitely top-notch
and highly competitive. I'm really looking forward to working with them."
Bristol Motor Speedway
will also mark the second event for crew chief Matt Lucas at RAB Racing. Lucas
recorded two wins in 2013, and to date has 21 Top-5 finishes, and 35 Top-10
finishes in 49 starts as a crew chief, along with 36 NNS wins as an engineer.
"Everyone here at
RAB Racing is really looking forward to having Kelly Admiraal in one of our
Toyota Camry's at Bristol Motor Speedway," said crew chief Matt Lucas.
"Our first goal is to get him comfortable running around the high banks at
Bristol with the different lines and characteristics of a race track that he's
never seen before. Once he's comfortable we'll work on getting the No. 29 Swan
Rentals Toyota Camry faster and getting Kelly to the checkered flag. A track
like Bristol will be great experience for Kelly moving forward in his
career."
Western Camp Services
will also continue their involvement and support of Admiraal in the NASCAR
Nationwide Series for 2014, beginning at Bristol Motor Speedway. Western Camp
Services has been a partner with Admiraal since the beginning of his NASCAR
racing career in 2012 and has supported his racing endeavors since 2003.
