The Living Legends of Auto Racing have announced a busy schedule
of fan-based activities and events in conjunction with Speedweeks 2012 in
Daytona Beach, Florida.
The organization will hold its 20th Annual Beachside Parade on
Tuesday, February 21, 2012, with dozens of vintage race and replica cars
staging at the Drive-in Church at 3140 S. Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach
Shores beginning at 9 a.m. The parade will then proceed north on A-1-A to
Botefur Ave., before taking to Daytona’s legendary beach and returning to the
Drive-in Church for display.
Registration for the parade takes place Monday, February 20, from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Living Legends of Auto Racing Museum, located at 2400
S. Ridgewood Avenue in South Daytona. There will be a last minute registration
at the Drive-in Church on Tuesday morning. For questions or additional

That night, the Living Legends of Auto Racing will host their Annual Charity Auction and Autograph Session at the Shores Resort and Spa on 2637 S. Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach Shores, beginning at 6 p.m. Among the drivers and motorsports personalities expected to be on hand to sign autographs are (in alphabetical order) Johnny Allen, Bobby Allison, Donnie Allison, Jack Anderson, author David Axelrod, Dave Dion, Lightnin’ Epton, Ray Fox, James Hylton, Jack Ingram, Flossie Johnson, Joe Mihalic, Eddie MacDonald, Sr., Cookie Osterhout, Dick Passwater, Buzzie Reutimann, Ronnie Rohn, Earl Sappenfield, Ernie Saxton, Yolanda Sheridan, Morgan Shepherd, Eddie Spurling, Don Tilley, Russ Truelove, Waddell Wilson, Bill Wimble and Vicki Wood. The 20th Annual LLOAR Awards Banquet takes place Wednesday
evening, February 22, in the Grand Ballroom at The Shores Resort and Spa. This
year's award recipients include NASCAR Hall Of Famer Junior Johnson, Richard
Childress, Ken Ragan, Buzzie Reutimann, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio host Clare B.
Lang, Joe Mihalic, Eddie MacDonald Sr. and Racing's North Turn Beach Bar and
Grill. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour (cash bar), and dinner
will be served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45.00 and reservations are required. For

And finally, the Living Legends of Auto Racing will host a racing history bus tour
at 9:30 a.m., Friday, February 24. The tour runs rain or shine, and will be conducted
by Bob Coolidge, Vice President of the LLOAR. The tour begins at the LLOAR
Museum on 2400 South Ridgewood Avenue in South Daytona, and includes many of
the locations where beach and NASCAR racing began. Lunch at the legendary
Racing’s North Turn Restaurant is included. Tickets are $30.00 and reservations
