"I can't tell you how many
times I get asked, ‘how do drivers know what to do when certain things happen
on the track?'" said Rockingham Speedway President Andy Hillenburg. "They
find out during the driver’s meeting. We wanted to allow our race fans to see
it first hand, and NASCAR graciously agreed to let that happen. We like having
knowledgeable race fans, and this is a great way to help folks better
understand the sport."
Fans are asked to enter the
infield through the tunnel in Turn Four if they wish to take part in the
drivers meeting. A ticket to the race serves as admission. Additionally,
drivers will sign autographs at their trucks on race day from 11 a.m.to noon. Frontstretch
gates (under the flag stand and in turn one) will be open for fans to cross the
racing surface
"This event is going to be
as fan-friendly as it can be," said Hillenburg. "Leading up to the
Good Sam Roadside Assistance 200 presented by Cheerwine, the speedway has had
an outpouring of support from fans from all over the country. We want to make
sure that we do everything we can to repay that support.
"With a great three days of
racing (April 13-15), Little Texas and the Chris Lane Band (April 14) and
ThunderFest (April 13), these new bonuses for ticket holders are going to make it
an even more awesome event for our fans."
