MRN's "Straight Line" Heads To zMax Dragway

Motor Racing Network is marking this week’s return of the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals to Charlotte, N.C., with four special broadcasts of its weekly “Straight Line” program.

The show, part of the network’s lineup of exclusive online content available at www.MRN.com, will originate from zMAX Dragway on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 11-13).  And co-hosts Marty Hough and Top Fuel competitor Doug Herbert will set the stage for the fifth stop of the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series with an event preview during this week’s regular airing of “Straight Line,” which streams each Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. (ET).

They’ll follow that with three shows on location from the B.R.A.K.E.S. Foundation booth at zMAX Dragway.  “Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe” is a program founded by Herbert, whose mission is to prevent injuries and save lives by training and educating teenage drivers and their parents about the importance of safe, responsible driving.

“We’ve done something similar with our ‘Winged Nation’ program and the World of Outlaws at the Knoxville Nationals the last couple years that’s been well received by fans and competitors, alike,” said MRN President and Executive Producer David Hyatt.  “We’re based in the Charlotte market.  It makes sense for us to capitalize on that and showcase ‘Straight Line’ as a featured program in our lineup of exclusive online content.  We’re proud to partner with Doug Herbert and honored to share the weekend with his foundation.”

“Straight Line” will air online and onsite from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12.  Scheduled guests include Funny Car competitors Jack Beckman, Ron Capps, Courtney Force, Matt Hagan and Tommy Johnson; along with Top Fuel drivers Antron Brown (second in points), Brittany Force and Shawn Langdon.

Sunday’s show, which will air from 10-11 a.m. (ET) in advance of final eliminations, will feature Funny Car point leader Robert Hight.

The weekend’s special programming from zMAX Dragway – available at MRN.com and via the TuneIn app for smart phones – is part of Motor Racing Network’s overall 2014 schedule that features 115 live events from 39 different venues including the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series; and exclusive radio coverage of the inaugural TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
