In honor of Childhood Cancer
Awareness Month, Jeff Gordon has personally committed to matching all funds
raised -- up to $100,000 -- through Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation Kick-It
events held during the month of September.
Kick-It, a program and partner
of JGCF, is a national volunteer-driven effort focused solely on raising money
for children's cancer research through kickball games and peer-to-peer
fundraising events. Participants use their network to raise funds and events
have been held in schools, stadiums, backyards and parks all over the country
and as far away as Australia. Kick-It is committed to directing every possible
dollar to research. To locate or organize an event in your community, visit www.kick-it.org/jeffgordon.
"Kick-It is about people
joining together to help in finding a cure for childhood cancer," said
Gordon. "I am committed to finding a cure and the way to get there is
through research. By matching funds raised through Kick-It games played this
September, I hope to encourage others to join in the fight and spread awareness
in their own communities."
Jeff Gordon Children's
Foundation will host the 3rd Annual Charlotte Kick-It kickball tournament at
CMC-NorthEast Stadium, home of the Kannapolis Intimidators, on Sunday September
13th from 3 - 8 pm. Lowe's will support the event as a Field Sponsor. Proceeds raised
will benefit childhood cancer research at Levine Children's Hospital in
Charlotte, NC.
