Brandon McReynolds has been named to drive
the Bill McAnally Racing No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry in the NASCAR K&N
Pro Series West for 2014.
The 22-year-old driver from Mooresville,
N.C., returns to BMR after registering one Top-5 and two Top-10 finishes in two
series starts with the team last season.
McReynolds, the son of former NASCAR Sprint
Cup Series crew chief and current race analyst with FOX Sports Larry
McReynolds, also has two Top-5 and seven Top-10 finishes in 12 starts in the
NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. In addition, he has competed in the ARCA Racing
Series presented by Menards, where he scored a victory at Talladega
Superspeedway in 2012.
“We are excited to welcome Brandon to BMR,”
said BMR President Bill McAnally. “We enjoyed working with him this past season
and we look forward to having him run the full schedule for 2014.
“With the potential Brandon displayed, we
anticipate great results with him behind the wheel of BMR’s NAPA Toyota,”
McAnally said. “We look for a winning combination with Brandon and BMR teaming
together to produce a top contender for our sponsors – NAPA AUTO PARTS and
Toyota – and our fans.”
In addition to running the complete slate of
14 races in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, McReynolds is also scheduled to
run two races for BMR in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
“This is a great opportunity to join with a
team like BMR,” McReynolds said. “We look to build on the success we had last
year and produce a top caliber effort. I can’t wait for the season opener at
Phoenix.”
In addition to naming McReynolds to run the
full schedule; it was also announced that Michael Waltrip, Eric Holmes and
Patrick Staropoli will compete for BMR in select series events in 2014. Waltrip, a two-time Daytona 500 winner, is
slated to race in two series events in 2014. It will mark his fifth straight
season of competing in a BMR entry. The co-owner of Michael Waltrip Racing has
one victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, at Pikes Peak International
Raceway in Colorado in 1997.
Holmes, a three-time champion in the NASCAR
K&N Pro Series West, is scheduled to compete in select series events for
BMR in 2014. In addition to winning series titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010;
Holmes has 17 wins and 13 poles in 102 starts.
Staropoli will return to run five races for
BMR in 2014. Staropoli, 24, of Plantation, Fla., had one Top-5 and two Top-10
finishes in two starts for the team in 2013, which followed his winning the
PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge.
BMR
has a long history of success in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. The team
won five series championships – in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2008 and 2010 – and its
multi-car teams have combined for a record 50 series wins.
