Patricia
Driscoll continues to assert that she was assaulted by former boyfriend Kurt
Busch in his motorhome at Dover International Speedway last September.
Now,
she says she is not the only woman in NASCAR to be victimized by domestic
abuse.
“I’ve
had a lot of women come forward to me from the NASCAR community, to say they
were also abused and that they’re being harassed by other team members,” said Driscoll in an interview on the Fox & Friends morning program today. “(They say) that when they’ve gone to get protective orders and they’ve
received them… they’re still getting harassed by their ex-husbands or
ex-boyfriends or the guys that (they work) with, because unlike a lot of sports,
they all live in the same community.”
Driscoll
offered no specifics and did not identify any of the women by name.
Earlier
this week, Driscoll was granted a no-contact order against Busch in King County
(Del.) Family Court. The order requires Busch to remain at least 1,000 feet
from her, her home and business, and forbids him from attempting to contact her.
At NASCAR races, Busch is required to maintain the maximum
"practicable" distance from Driscoll.
Law
enforcement officials conducted an investigation into Driscoll’s allegations
that Busch grabbed her by the throat and slammed her head into the wall of his
motorhome, but the Delaware Attorney General's office has not yet announced whether
they will file charges.
NASCAR
has said Thursday they will not act until that decision is rendered. The
sanctioning body has not commented on Driscoll’s latest allegations of widespread
domestic violence in the sport.
UPDATE: Kurt Busch's attorney filed a motion Thursday, requesting that the case be reopened, saying new witnesses have come forward accusing Driscoll of perjury. Attorney Rusty Hardin said this week's "media onslaught" by Driscoll proves her desire to "ruin the career and reputation of the man who left her." Hardin has also accused Driscoll of witness tampering.

Such BS!
ReplyDeleteI would also like to know why... if she doesn't like Kurt & was 'hurt' by him... why would she leave ALL the pictures of him on her twitter page? She's just trying to take him down & now dragging all of NASCAR in it... she's wacked!
DeleteIs she looking for a bigger check or something? If so, somebody write her one and get her the hell away from NASCAR. She is trying her best to drag the sport back 40 years in time.
ReplyDeleteJust curious, why wouldn't NASCAR pull her hard card, presuming she had one, as she has no business being behind the gates anymore. Then if she shows up at any of the tracks it would be a little more evident who is stocking who.
ReplyDeleteHer charity is one that NASCAR supports and it's also a sponsor of a race...That's why.
DeleteNo matter what it is time for NASCAR and Race Teams to acknowledge Domestic Violence is no joke and come out and say that if their is enough proof for charges an arrest and conviction then whom ever is the suspect will be out if the sport
ReplyDeleteHer Foundation does amazing work with NASCAR so she has to be at the tracks. This isn't about $...she didn't sue for that. She sued for safety and to force him into anger management as well as other treatment. It's time DV stop being covered up in all sports across the board. I live daily with my scars from a soldier that had PTSD. No place in this world for DV!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe didn't sue at all, she requested a PO from someone who broke up with her and hasn't been in contact with her for 5 months. She is the one that trespassed and drove her son two hours in the night from Maryland to Delaware to make Kurt tell her son why he was breaking up with her.
DeleteYou are pretty low to use your kid. Where are the Dr reports documenting her "injuries"? Oh, she didn't go to the Dr? Where are the pictures of these "injuries"? Oh, she didn't take any evidence pictures? Why did she wait months before she even brought it up? Oh, she thought he would get back with her? She's a psycho and her "media tour" will backfire on her.
First let me say that I do not uphold for domestic violence period, but she seems to be trying to sabotage Kurt's career. Now it appears that she is gunning for NASCAR as well. She has been granted the protective order and in my opinion she needs to let the court system do it's job to see if Kurt Busch is guilty of her accusations. It would seem that she is on an agenda to give the Sport of NASCAR a black eye during the weekend of the sports biggest race of the year. NASCAR is in the spotlight more during the weeks of the Daytona 500 than any other weekend of the racing season and she knows that this story will gravitate in more mainstream media outlets this weekend than any other weekend of the season. It is a raw deal for NASCAR to be getting dragged through the mud of a personal conflict in what should at least at this point be a private matter between her and Kurt. There are too many good stories in happening NASCAR right now to have a very dark shadow like this hanging over the sport. If Kurt Busch is found guilty then he deserves to be charged by the legal system and NASCAR should brought in to the matter at that time. I think that she has stepped over her boundaries by her comments about other issues that doesn't pertain to her.
ReplyDeleteWHY DOESN'T SHE JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE-IF IT IS NOT MONEY--WHAT THEN???????
ReplyDeleteEver heard the term "a woman scorned"?
ReplyDeleteSo, have any of the women allegedly abused in the Nascar community tweeted their support directly to PD. I haven't seen any on PD's twitter page. Why???
