Jeffrey Earnhardt
will drive the No. 55 Fronius USA Chevrolet for Viva Motorsports in the 2015 NASCAR
Xfinity Series, beginning with the season-opening Alert Today 300 at Daytona
International Speedway.
Earnhardt, the
grandson of Dale Earnhardt Sr., raced for JD Motorsports last season, highlighted
by a 12th-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway.
"Jeffrey is
a great talent and he will bring a lot to our team on and off the
racetrack," said team owner Jamie Dick. "With Viva Motorsports
equipment, Fronius USA support, and Jeffrey behind the wheel, we will be a
force to be reckoned with when the season kicks off."
Earnhardt expressed
confidence the new partnership, saying, “After becoming friends last season, I
knew Viva Motorsports was where I wanted to be. What Jamie has done with Viva
Motorsports is incredible. What a lot of people don't know is Jamie is only 25
years old. He started with a couple cars and has built it into an awesome team.
I can't say it enough how excited I am to be a part of this. Daytona can't get
here fast enough.”
I'd say it is good to have the last name of Earnhardt!
