BREAKING NEWS: Allmendinger Reinstated By NASCAR

NASCAR has reinstated driver AJ Allmendinger upon his successful completion of NASCAR’s Substance Abuse Policy Road to Recovery Program. Allmendinger had been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR on July 24 for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy.

He will joins Sirius XM Speedway at 5:15 today (Tuesday) for his first public comment since reinstatement.

  1. Congrats to AJ being reinstated, but where does he go from here? While I believe AJ does have a career in NASCAR, I don't see any open rides right now. Hell even the #22 Shell-Pennzoil Dodge is currently being driven by Sam Hornish Jr. and will have Joey Logano in it for a few years to come at least.

    I wonder if a Nationwide or Truck Series team has room for him for the remainder of 2012? There is no time like the present to make a statement.

  5. A little confused, how can anyone with a problem worth while of NASCAR dragging them through the mud and doing major damage to their career, be cured of whatever horrible drug problem they have in under 2 months? Doesn't add up!
