BREAKING NEWS: Pastrana To Race For Roush Fenway This Weekend at Richmond

Pastrana will drive for Roush Fenway
X Games and Rally Cross champion Travis Pastrana will pilot Roush Fenway’s No. 60 entry in this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Speedway.

“It’s a truly awesome opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Roush Fenway No. 60 Ford Mustang,” said Pastrana. “Roush Fenway Racing has a strong background as the most successful team in the history of the NASCAR Nationwide Series, and I’m pleased to be driving for a legend like Jack Roush this weekend at Richmond.

“There is a tough learning curve in NASCAR for sure,” added Pastrana.“But I have been happy with the gradual improvement. We had our best finish at Indy and led our first laps this weekend in Atlanta, so I’m

excited to get back to Richmond and build on that success and see what I can do behind the wheel of a Roush Fenway Ford.”

Pastrana, who has eight Nationwide Series starts under his belt, made his NASCAR debut at Richmond earlier this season, finishing 22nd. He scored a career-best 13th-place finish last month at the famed
Indianapolis Motor Speedway and led his first career lap this past weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Roush Fenway’s No. 60 entry boasts the most wins in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series history, having been driven to victory lane a grand total of 90 times by celebrated drivers Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards and Mark Martin. Roush Fenway Racing is also the most successful team in NASCAR history in terms of wins, fielding multiple teams in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series with championship drivers Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne.

  1. What a waste of a good ride. This guy needs to go drive for a yr or two in trucks and learn to drive these cars. He may be great at Xtrem motor sports but NASCAR is one different animal. Just ask all the open wheel people....

Wow - talk about a huge opportunity. Pretty much an audition of a lifetime for him as it relates to NASCAR. Happy for him... hope he does well.

  4. @Anon 8:19 Pastrana Waltrip team dissolved over sponsor conflicts. When MWR signed 5 Hour Energy, it conflicted with TP's deal with Red Bull.

It has nothing to do with Redbull at all Roush is sponsored by Nos
And Pastrana can drive he is a wheel man
He is having a hard time adjusting to the heavy cars however he ran a late model at my local track in July and the guy has unbelievable car control and is a total sponge
Anything we told him he did.
And he is one Hell of a nice guy.
