BREAKING NEWS: RCR Appeal Is Denied

The National Stock Car Racing Commission Appeals Panel has denied a Richard Childress Racing appeal of the penalties handed down to team personnel in the aftermath of rules violations detected following last month’s race at Michigan International Speedway. Crew chief Slugger Labbe was fined $100,000 and received a multi-week suspension and NASCAR probation through Dec. 31. Car chief Craig Smokstad and crewman Grant Hutchens also received suspensions and probation.

RCR appealed only the Smokestad and Hutches sanctions, while Labbe began serving his suspension last weekend at Richmond International Raceway The team now has the right to appeal the decision to Commissioner John Middlebrook.

  2. Not surprise at all. However RCR should appeal again to the lead guy and that could result in a reduction of suspensions towards the other two.

Lol. This whole penalty appeal process is a joke. How can you have a judge, jury, and executioner that was VP of sales for GM?

I just dont understand. He might be the most impartial person in the world. But, it just looks bad.
