Gunselman, Baldwin Announce Technical Alliance

JJ Yeley
Max Q Motorsports owner Larry Gunselman announced today that MQM and Tommy Baldwin Racing have formed a technical alliance. J.J. Yeley will drive the MQM No. 37 entry, effective immediately.

“Max Q has been trying to put itself in position get back into the Cup series and be competitive,” explained Gunselman. “Tommy and I got to talking and he explained where he wants his program to go. He would like to build his program like the Hendrick, RCR and Roush teams by selling cars and engineering to make their program better, and that is something that I been looking to do to get my program to the next level.”

TBR competed with two teams this season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The team, formed in 2009, also started a NASCAR Nationwide team this season, running a partial schedule.

“The only way we are going to get better is to be able to get our product out there more and have different people working on it,” said Baldwin. “I'm confident that with the group of guys Larry is assembling, along with J. J. behind the wheel, it will benefit both teams.”
