Dippel Set For Whirlwind Race Weekend

The energy of youth will be tested to its limit this weekend, when youngster Tyler Dippel tackles a three-events-in-four-nights schedule of racing on both dirt and asphalt, culminating in his first career asphalt Super Late Model start in Saturday night’s Pro All Stars Series 150 at Virginia’s legendary South Boston Speedway.

On dirt Thursday and Sunday...
Thursday night, Dippel is slated to take part in the $17,500 to win “MR. DIRT Track USA” 100-lap dirt modified race at Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, NY, testing his skills against many of the northeast’s top modified drivers. After the checkered flag falls, Dippel will climb into his team’s transporter and immediately head south for Virginia, meeting up with his Godfather Motorsports/Trinity Oaks Senior Living Ford team for two full days of practice, qualifying and racing in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

After Saturday night’s race, Dippel will make another all-night drive back to the North Country for Sunday’s third round of the SUNY Canton GRIT Series for 602 Crate Sportsman machines at Thunder Mountain Raceway Park in Lisle, New York.

“It’s going to be busy, but I don’t think I’ll have any trouble,” said Dippel, a multi-time winner on the dirt in his native New York this season. “I’m excited about finally getting to run on asphalt, after a bunch of rain-outs. We’ve done a ton of testing, but I want to race!”

...asphalt on Saturday!
The program at “America’s Hometown Track” includes a 150-lap main event for the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models, plus twin 75-lap races for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model Stocks and the touring Legends Cars.
Practice begins Saturday at 2 p.m., with time trial qualifying set for 4:30. A special Fan Appreciation Session will be held trackside from 5:45 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., allowing fans to visit with their favorite competitors, collect autographs and take pictures. Race time is set for 7 p.m.
