Stewart Haas To Announce Busch's Signing Tomorrow

Busch and Stewart; teammates in 2014
Haas Automation founder and co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing Gene Haas will join SHR competition director Greg Zipadelli at a press conference announcing the signing of former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Kurt Busch to a multi-year contract tomorrow at 2 PM ET at the SHR complex in Kannapolis, NC.

SHR did not mention Busch by name today, saying only that tomorrow’s Press Conference will deal with “future expansion of Stewart-Haas Racing.”

The team confirmed recently that they have made an offer to field a fourth SHR Chevrolet for Busch next season, sponsored primarily by Hass. Busch’s current team, Furniture Row Racing, offered to extend Busch’s current contract late last week, but sources say the single-car team’s offer it fell far short of what SHR was able to put on the table.

Busch told FOX Sports NASCAR writer Lee Spencer today, “it’s inked.”

With Busch now headed to Stewart Haas, Furniture Row Racing finds itself in the market for a new driver. Sources say they have reached out to two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winner Juan Pablo Montoya, who learned earlier this month that he will not return to Chip Ganassi Racing’s No. 42 Target Chevrolet in 2014. Busch is currently 12th in points – just six out of the Top-10 – after a right-rear hub failure relegated him to a disappointing, 31st-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway Saturday night.

FRR should go after Dinger. He has a bright future and seems willing to race in anyones ride.

With Ryan Newman, A.J.Allmendinger,Mark Martin, and Bobby Labonte on the market and possibly Justin Allgaier from Nationwide,Furniture Row shouldn't have a hard time finding a new driver without dealing with the baggage Montoya would bring
