Johnson, KOMA Unwind Team Anxious For SoBo Saturday

Driver Jerick Johnson and the KOMA Unwind Super Late Model team are praying for a change in the weather as they prepare for their next outing on Saturday night at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, VA.

The program at “America’s Hometown Track” includes a 150-lap main event for the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models, plus twin 75-lap races for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model Stocks and the touring Legends Cars.
“It’s been a heck of a summer,” said Johnson. “I think we’ve rained-out more races this season than we’ve run, and the forecast this weekend isn’t great, either. All we can do is prep the car and pray for the best, but I really want to get out there and turn some laps in the KOMA Kar this weekend.”
Ross Kenseth, son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Matt Kenseth, went to Victory Lane in the series’ first visit to the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval on May 11, and he is expected to return Saturday to defend his title.
Practice begins Saturday at 2 p.m., with time trial qualifying set for 4:30. A special Fan Appreciation Session will be held trackside from 5:45 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., allowing fans to visit with their favorite competitors, collect autographs and take pictures. Jerick Johnson and the Godfather Motorsports team will also be handing out complimentary samples of KOMA Unwind Relaxation Drink, ensuring fans a restful night’s sleep after an exciting evening of racing.
Race time is set for 7 p.m.

About POW*MIA Awareness – Godfather Motorsports is proud to support the POW*MIA Awareness Campaign. Driver Jerick Johnson has long been an advocate for veterans’ rights and the United States military. He is a five-time Distinguished Guest of the American Legion National Convention and has earned numerous awards from other veterans’ organizations. Promoting and increasing public awareness of the POW*MIA issue has become his main goal. `Prisoner Of War: Missing in Action’ refers to any soldier taken prisoner by the opposing side during an action of war. It is not always known whether that solider is alive or dead, only that they are missing. Our goal is to remind our fellow Americans that the greatest tragedy of all is to be forgotten, and honor those who have given so much. Jerick thanks Godfather Motorsports for the opportunity to help increase awareness of this issue by carrying the POW*MIA logo on the No. 30 KOMA Unwind Chevrolet.
