Byrnes was diagnosed with head-and-neck
cancer in late 2013 and underwent a grueling regimen of radiation and
chemotherapy. After initially appearing to have beaten the disease, Byrnes
learned recently that the cancer has returned.
He has announced that he
will stand down from his duties with FOX Sports 1 to focus on a second round of
treatment and spend time with his family. All of us at GodfatherMotorsports.com
wish Steve a speedy and complete recovery.
