Stenhouse Adds Charlotte Sprint Cup Race

Add another 2012 Sprint Cup start for Stenhouse
Roush Fenway Racing driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will pilot the No. 6 Best Buy Ford in next Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Stenhouse, along with RFR teammate Matt Kenseth, will each steer Best Buy-sponsored Fords, with Kenseth’s No. 17 Fusion also featuring the Best Buy blue and yellow for the event.

It will mark the first time that Best Buy has sponsored two cars in the same, with a unique ‘one-two punch’ of Roush Fenway’s first Sprint Cup Series champion (Kenseth) and its most recent Nationwide Series titlist (Stenhouse).
“We are really excited to have Best Buy on board for next season,” said Stenhouse. “It’s awesome that we are getting a head start on that relationship this season and I can’t wait to have them ride along on the No. 6 car at Charlotte.”
“It’s pretty fitting that I made my first Sprint Cup start at Charlotte last season and now I’ll be making my first start with Best Buy on the car at Charlotte this season. Hopefully we’ll have another strong run and build on some momentum to take into next season when we go full-time in the Sprint Cup Series.”
The race will be Stenhouse’s third Sprint Cup event of the season and his fourth career Cup start. He made his debut at Charlotte in the 2011 Coca-Cola 600, and caught the attention of the sport’s upper echelon with a strong 11th-place finish. The 2011 Nationwide Series Champion will make the move to full-time Sprint Cup in 2013, where he will again team with Best Buy, taking the reins of Roush Fenway’s historic No. 17.
