Attention Angie Skinner! MIS Hosts Michigan Wine and Beer Fest in May of 2013!

The infield at Michigan International Speedway will come to life with the best wineries and breweries from across the state on May 18, 2013. The Michigan Wine and Beer Fest sponsored by Experience Jackson will return to the track under a new name, but still with the same great variety of wines and beers.

The 1,400-acre historic NASCAR racetrack, located  in Southeastern Michigan’s Lenawee and Jackson Counties, will host its fourth annual Michigan Wine and Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson on Saturday, May 18. This event will once again feature the tastes and toasts of Michigan wineries, Michigan breweries and Michigan eateries in a unique setting — the state’s only NASCAR Sprint Cup racetrack and the fastest track on the circuit.
“We are really excited to bring the Michigan Wine and Beer Fest back under a new name as the list of wineries and breweries continues to grow,” Curtis said. “We had a fantastic event the past three years, and it has really grown into a can’t-miss for wineries and breweries, and for people who like sampling and enjoying the state’s wine and beer.”
The festival will once again be held in the speedway’s infield on Saturday, May 18. Entertainment will be featured throughout the day from the MIS stage. Other activities are also planned including wine, food and beer product vendors, tastings and displays. Over 30 award-winning wineries from across the state of Michigan will be on hand showcasing more than 100 varieties of wine including, Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet and others.
Beer will also return to the Michigan Wine and Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson in 2013. About 25 popular brands of locally-brewed beers were featured at last year’s event and are expected to return.
In addition to wine and beer sampling and seminars, the festival will include an on-site retail store with select wines available for purchase. Only a handful of festivals allow guests to walk away with having purchased the wines and beers they tasted and liked, and MIS is one of them!
Advance tickets for the Michigan Wine and Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson are $30. Each ticket includes $10 worth of tasting tokens per day. This event is for guests 21 and older.
Weekend camping is also available for $35 (nonelectric sites) and $50 (electric sites) in the track’s MISCamping.com Graves Farm Campground. Need an RV? A hassle-free camping option is available for the wine and brew fest at www.MIScamping.com.  Hotel accommodations are also available. Angie will probably have to go to Michigan for some testing before the big event.
