“This will be the first time most fans will have the opportunity to see the new 2013 cars and we are excited to give them a sneak peek,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “The teams will be working hard next week to figure these cars out in preparation for the biggest back-to-back weekends in motorsports here at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.”
Teams expected to participate in the test include Hendrick Motorsports, Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, Penske Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Richard Petty Motorsports, Stewart-Haas Racing and Wood Brothers Racing. Testing will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break for lunch at noon.
Each day, the Ford Grandstand on the frontstretch will open at 8:30 a.m. for the public to enjoy the on-track debut of the new 2013 cars. Fans should enter through gate 5B, by the main ticket office.
