Harvick Celebrates His Birthday In Style

Happy Birthday, Harv!
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick celebrated his 37th birthday a week early Saturday, serving as Guest of Honor at the Budweiser Presents Happy's Birthday Bash at The Fox Theater in his hometown of Bakersfield, Calif.

Country music star Craig Morgan headlined the charity event that benefitted the Kevin Harvick Foundation and included special performances by Bridgette Tatum and Matt Stillwell.

"I'm glad to be back in Bakersfield, (Calif.)," said Morgan. "The Kevin Harvick Foundation has done a lot for the local community, so I'm glad to be part of this event and hopefully help the foundation raise some funds to keep the programs going that help so many kids."

Before arriving in Bakersfield, Harvick, who turns 37 on Dec. 8, first was honored Friday evening at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas for his eighth-place finish in the 2012 season's final championship driver point standings.

Morgan and friends surprised Harvick during the concert by pulling him on-stage for an impromptu singing of "Happy Birthday.”

"It takes a lot to embarrass me, but Craig Morgan and everyone succeeded, to some degree, by having the entire theater sing to me," Harvick said. "However, the money we raised for the Kevin Harvick Foundation is nothing to be ashamed of. A little lighthearted fun at my expense certainly is worth the chance to assist underprivileged children across the country. A heartfelt thanks from DeLana and me to Budweiser, Craig Morgan, Bridgette Tatum, Matt Stillwell and all our sponsors for their support this weekend."

Morgan's newest album, THIS OLE BOY, commemorating the 10 years since his debut album, has met with great success and was a big hit with the concertgoers.
