Jousse Joins ESR For Daytona ARCA Attempt

Frenchman Julien Jousse, 26, will join Eddie Sharp Racing for the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Racing Series season opening event at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 16.

The race will mark Jousse's ARCA Racing Series' debut, and just his second start in a stock car. Jousse competed in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event at All-American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. in October 2012. With 15 years racing experience, Jousse is an accomplished driver with race wins, pole awards and championships in everything from go-karts to the European Le Mans Series. In 2011, he won the LMP1 Class Championship in the European Le Mans Series.

"I am very excited to join Eddie Sharp Racing," commented Jousse. "They have great equipment and more importantly great people, which I believe is the key to success in stock car racing. We have a lot to learn with the style of racing, but I am confident we will be okay with the experienced team at ESR. I can't wait to get to Daytona."

Jousse will make his debut with ESR during the ARCA Racing Series test session at Daytona International Speedway, December 14-16, 2012.

"Julien is a talented driver with proven success on a world platform," said team owner Eddie Sharp. "To have a driver of Julien's caliber recognize ESR's success in the ARCA Racing Series and choose our team to kick off his stock car career is a real honor. We're very excited to work with him during the test session this week and we're looking forward to the race in February."

A proven contender in the ARCA Racing Series, Sharp joined forces with driver Justin Lofton to win the 2009 series championship. ESR has proven to be a top team for developing young talent for NASCAR competition. Drivers like Justin Lofton, Michael McDowell, Scott Speed and Nelson Piquet Jr. have all piloted ESR entries in the ARCA Series and have found success in the form of championships, rookie of the year titles and race wins.
