A 19-year old driver is was hospitalized with
undisclosed back injuries after a 360 Sprint Car crash last night at New York’s
Canandaigua Motorsports Park that involved NASCAR driver Tony Stewart.
Stewart attempted
a three-wide pass while battling for third on a restart, triggering a multi-car
crash. The car of 19-year-old Alysha Ruggles flipped wildly in the track’s
first turn after climbing a competitor’s wheel, and she was transported to Strong
Memorial Hospital. The speedway’s website said Ruggles had been put in a back
brace, with doctors “evaluating whether further steps need to be taken.”
Stewart took blame for the
crash. He was not injured.
Word is Ruggles got on track PA and called Stewart an a'hole. :)
ReplyDeleteAlysha was discharged from the hospital today, is home resting in a back brace. She actually plans to be a spectator at Canandaigua Saturday and hopes to return to the driver's seat when all healed up.
