NASCAR announced today that the No. 7 NASCAR Nationwide Series team of Danica Patrick has been issued penalties and fines as a result of rule infractions at Phoenix International Raceway last week.
The No. 7 Chevrolet was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-J (any determination by NASCAR officials that the race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20A-2.3A (improperly attached weight) of the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series rule book. The infraction occurred during the race on Nov. 12.
As a result of the violations, crew chief Tony Eury Jr. has been fined $10,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until March 28, 2012.
Why is it always Danica? A lot of criticism are made by others without even verifying the truth. Well, until one of these...
ReplyDeleteI must have a reading comprehension problem because I have no idea what you just said, ARP.
ReplyDeleteWhy did Eury JR. get probation thru March 28th and Kyle Busch only get it thru the end of the year. That's something that drives me nuts about NASCAR. No consistency.
ReplyDeleteConsistency? Really? These incidents could not be more dissimilar.
ReplyDeleteTony Jr. was fined $10,000, Kyle was fined $50,000. Kyle was parked for two races, including a Cup race that dropped his team from 7th to 11th in points; a hit that will cost the team MILLIONS of dollars and possibly a chance to thank their sponsors onstage at the banquet.
Do you REALLY think Tony Jr. took a harder hit?
No I don't think he took a harder hit. But why March 28th. Just seems random. Maybe you can help me out, but has there been a history of probation carrying well over into the next year. I'm not being argumentative, just seeking clarity.
ReplyDeleteThere is precedent for a probation carrying over to the next season, especially when the violation occurs so near the end of the schedule.
ReplyDeleteOne race left this season, then to March 28th 2012, close to about 6 race suspension. Isn't that about the norm for CC suspension in rule violations?
ReplyDeleteJr motorsports stinks as bad a Jr. So now they resort to cheating.
ReplyDeleteChevrolet?Danica?Unbelievable.
