Andy Lally will return to the seat of the No. 71 TRG Motorsports Ford this weekend as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series invades Texas Motor Speedway for the running of the AAA Texas 500. Lally was replaced on a one-race basis by Hermie Sadler last weekend at Martinsville Speedway, but will be back at the wheel this week with associate sponsorship from Strategic Public Affairs.
"I'm excited to be back racing for TRG this weekend," said lally. "Texas was the first race I had to qualify my way in to earlier this year and I will do my best to do so again. We have fast cars and a good team, which makes me optimistic heading into the weekend."
Team owner Kevin Buckler remains optimistic about the TRG Motorsports brand, saying, "We have a strong team and a strong car here. Andy is such a talented driver and I believe he can get us in the show this weekend. We are working hard on getting back in the top-35. We have done it once and we can do it again. We have some good things brewing as we head into next season. We will continue to try impress people by our drive and efficiency."
The team fell out of the Top-35 in owner points two weeks ago, and now trails the #38 Front Row Motorsports Ford team by 13 points in their battle for the final guaranteed starting spot in the first five races of the 2012 season.
