Dillon Clarifies 2012 RCR Lineup

Richard Childress Racing General Manager Mike Dillon confirmed to Sirius XM NASCAR Radio’s Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody that RCR will field three Nationwide Series teams next season and a pair of Camping World Trucks.

“The Nationwide deals are finalized,” said Dillon. “We’ll have Elliott Sadler in the #2, Austin Dillon in the #3 and RCR’s Cup drivers sharing the #33. On the Truck side, it’ll be Ty Dillon in the #3 and Joey Coulter in the #22.”

Dillon offered no new information on the status of Clint Bowyer’s talks with the team, joking. “I don’t think I’ve been briefed on that today.” He was not optimistic about Bowyer’s possible return, however, saying, “If I talk too much about that, I’m afraid I might cry.

"It’s not enough that we want Clint back, or that he wants to come back,” said Dillon. “Without the funding, it just doesn’t work.”

  1. Moody, what about the big hint he dropped about an association with 2 other to be named truck teams? KHI is For Sale!!

  2. That wasn't a hint, it was a statement of fact. Both Kevin and DeLana Harvick have said that KHI and its assets are for sale. I may have more information on this subject today.

i just hope bowyer doesnt end up at mwr. with all due respect, we as listeners cannot be subjected to a third mwr call every week to make the same speech about how we are working on things. you have developed a good rapport with reuti and i love to hear the stories about buzzy. but the truex calls are downright painful.

i understand everyone in the garage are friends and that no one shills for their sponsors like mikey. but if one man can voice one criticism, please reconsider next years lineup of regular guests.
