Since beginning his racing career in his native Maine more than a decade ago, Rodney Brooks has eagerly anticipated every opportunity to strap into a high speed stock car. But Saturday night, the excitement meter will be pegged when the driver known as “Rockin’ Rodney” tackles the “Orange Blossom Special 150” at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC.
Since taking the reins of the Trinity
Oaks Senior Living Community/KOMA Unwind Ford in late August, Brooks has yet to finish outside the Top-10.
He was a strong contender for Victory Lane at Dillon Motor Speedway two weeks
ago, before an on-track collision caused damage that relegated him to a 10th-place
finish at the drop of the checkered flag.
“We’ve got a really good team here,” said Brooks. “These guys work hard and give me a good car every week. Trinity Oaks Senior Living and KOMA Unwind are the most involved, supportive sponsors I’ve ever driven for, and as long as we stay out of trouble and have a little good luck, we’re going to get a win pretty soon.”

Brooks said he is especially optimistic about his chances at Orange
County Speedway. “I’ve raced all over the country, from Maine to Florida to
Tennessee,” he said. “Orange County Speedway is my favorite race track. I love
that place, I’m comfortable there and I think we’ll have something for them
Saturday night.”
In addition to the 150-lap main event for the PASS Super Late Models, the
Pro Late Model and CCS Modified divisions will also be featured on Saturday
night’s card. Practice for the “Orange Blossom Special” begins Saturday at 2
p.m., with time-trial qualifying at 4:30 and main event racing at 6 p.m. Pro
All Stars Series officials are offering a special “$20 Per Car Load” admission policy
for Saturday’s race, with up to four adults admitted per car. Additional adults
in a vehicle will be admitted for only $5 per person.
