Leavine Family Racing Adds Nationwide Team

Leavine Family Racing announced today that it will field a single-car NASCAR Nationwide Series team in addition to its NASCAR Sprint Cup Series program.

The third-year, Concord, N.C.-based organization will enter a No. 95 Nationwide Series Ford Mustang in two of the final four races, beginning at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 11. Reed Sorenson will drive the No. 95 at Charlotte, with Michael McDowell behind the wheel at Texas Motor Speedway on Nov. 2.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled about our expansion this season,” said team owner Bob Leavine. “Our program is an independent team, but we have potential – and with an infusion of sponsorship -- perhaps a lot more than that.”
LFR was a two-car operation in 2012, fielding No. 95 entries in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and ARCA Racing Series. In three years of Sprint Cup competition, Leavine Family Racing has competed in 35 events with a number of drivers. They have accumulated two Top-15 and one Top-10 finish, with a best showing of ninth at Talladega Super Speedway.
The team is still finalizing its drivers for the 2014 season.
