Boris On Biffle: "He’s Going To Fight Me Like A Man Someday."

Greg Biffle and Boris Said took NASCAR’s “Boys Have At It” era to a new level Monday, engaging in a post-race scuffle that ended with Said promising to “go see him at his house and (give him)... a freakin’ whooping.”

Biffle lost a lap early in Monday’s rain delayed “Heluva Good Sour Cream Dips At The Glen” after running out of fuel under caution and having to be pushed back to the pits. He then angered Said by racing the road course specialist harder than Said thought necessary, leading to harsh words, pushing and shoving between the drivers and their teams after the race.

“He was flipping me off, giving me the finger, (being) totally unprofessional, a few laps down,” said Said. “He’s a chump... the most unprofessional little scaredy cat I’ve ever seen in my life. He wouldn’t even fight me like a man. If somebody texts me his address, I’ll go see him Wednesday at his house and show him what he really needs. He needs a freakin’ whooping, and I’m going to give it to him.”

Said also played a leading role in a savage final-lap crash that saw David Ragan and David Reutimann slam head-on into the Turn Two guardrail, with Reutimann’s Michael Waltrip RacingToyota cartwheeling across the track and into the opposite guardrail before bursting briefly into flames. Neither driver was injured, but Biffle and Ragan immediately blamed Said for the crash. “He just hooked us,” said Ragan. “He certainly could have given a little more of a break and we all could have gotten through there and not torn up anything. But he was aggressive. We were all aggressive.’’

"I want to make sure everyone sees the wreck between David and David," said Biffle in a post-race Twitter posting. "That's coming from a guy (who) says I am unprofessional. Let me tell you something, Boris `the road course ringer’ caused that wreck. He did the same thing to me earlier in the race off the carousel. …Then Mr. Class pulls in behind my truck after the race today? Shouldn't you go check on David and David? How unprofessional and disrespectful!"

Said denied causing the crash, saying “The #6 car was getting into me a lot. I didn't want to wreck him, but I had to stay on the track and he didn't give me any room. We collided. That is the only thing I feel bad about.” He also accused Biffle of punching him immediately after the race, saying, “He wouldn't even let me get out of the car. He comes over and throws a few little baby punches, then when I get out, he runs away and hides behind some big guys.

“He won't hide from me long. I’ll find him. I won't settle it out on the track. It's not right to wreck cars. But he'll show up at a race with a black eye one of these days. I'll see him somewhere.”

In a post-race interview with Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, Said claimed that he and Biffle had issues dating back to last year’s race at The Glen. “Last year, I went down into Turn One three wide and passed him,” said Said. “He got mad because he says I’m not a regular and I shouldn’t be racing the regulars that hard. But I was racing the Red Bull car... and they pay me to drive at 100 percent, not to roll over for some regular. I’m not doing my job if I don’t try 100 percent. So he was still sore about that I guess... and he had a lot of time to think about it because he was two laps down.”

Said’s crew chief, Nick Harrison, said his driver was upset before the race ended, sending a message through his spotter that he would be looking for the Roush Fenway Racing driver after the checkered flag. "Biffle had run out of gas and was multiple laps down and was racing Boris,” said Harrison. “Boris thought that was dirty, so Boris relayed a message to the spotter he wanted to meet him after the race."

“I give guys respect when they deserve respect,” said Said. “As far as Greg Biffle’s concerned, I’m not going to be happy until I whomp him. And I am going to whomp him sometime when he least expects it. He’s going to fight me like a man someday. Not at the track, not where we get fined, but someday. He’s supposed to be a champion, (but) that’s a joke.”

Is this really where we want our sport to head? I'm all for "boys have at it", but threatening to go to another driver's home and commit an assault is way over the line. Settle it at the track or let it go.

Boris had nothing to lose, expect whatever shreds of respect he had remaining. He has been part of several incidents in past years at road courses. I know he really wants to be part of NASCAR on a more consistent basis, but that ship sailed a long time ago.

Sorry. Said did not cause the wreck. If you look at tape, he has position on Ragan and held his line. Note - Said was on the edge of the track and did not move in. When Ragan could not hold his line, he moved out and into Said.

Could Said have backed off and given Ragan room? Yes, but that would not be racing hard. If Ragan couldn't make the move, he should have backed off.

  4. I used to like Boris, but now it seems like he's just upset that his chance to win drove off without him a few years ago. At best, he's overly aggressive for a mid-pack racer. Funny that he said he ran out of track but there was still some to his left.

  5. There were things both Boris and Ragan could've done, Boris could've backed off, which as close as that pack was, could've led to a big crash anyway, Ragan maybe could've picked a better place to pass. Isn't it the passers responsibility to make sure they're clear? Of course, they were racing hard, and no reason for any of them to have done any different.
As far as Boris vs Greg? Boris was wrong to go on national radio and threaten the physical well-being of Greg. And Biffle, you're pretty much out of the Chase, was 1-2 laps down racing a lead lap car. Did you and Jimmie Johnson go to the same school?

  8. Boris Said gets paid to try to win races. Failing that, he's supposed to get the best finish he can. Just like Kyle Busch, or Carl Edwards, or Denny Hamlin even when they are racing in the Nationwide series. Nobody calls foul when Carl runs over Ricky Stenhouse who is running for a championship in a series in which Carl isn't getting points. It's absurd to think any race car driver should back off for another driver just because the other driver is close to a championship, or needs to win to keep his ride, or is a regular in that series. Very glad nobody was hurt, but this was not all Boris' responsibility.

First of all, kudos to NASCAR for the "COT". Had we not had that car, Menard, Hamlin, Big Shrub, and most of all Beak and Ragan would not have "walked away", or limped in both Reutiman and Ragan's case. That being said, I have not seen the corners leading up to Boris dumping the 6, but in watching the greater part of the race, there was plenty of minor contact in that area of the track that did NOT result in destroyed race cars. Yes, it was the last lap, but to flat dump a car in that part of the track is not only disrepectful, but flat flagrant. Yes, Boris is a great road racer, but the actions of today do not represent those of a true "racer". Instead I saw someone who was po'd at running 20th. Did Biffle "disrespect" him by flipping him off? Maybe so, but to completely lose your head over it, that's not what this sport is about. Again, Thank You NASCAR for todays car. Thanks to that, we still have talented racers who would likely not be racing next weekend without it.

I love it! A green-white-checker finish at a road course or restrictor plate (short track could be here too) tracks most likely will result in damaged race cars. This was a racing deal to me. It sucks that 2 other cars are destroyed from the actions of other but that is part of racing.

I am all for the personal outbursts and actual racing on the track. Bravo Boris and Biff. Bring on the road course ringers and anyone else. I think you will find that the NASCAR regulars will prevail. No, Marcos Ambrose is NOT a road course ringer, he is a NNCS regular.

    Peace and Love...

    1. Biffle is a little girl .. and it would have been very funny to see him show up next week with some big ol shades on

    2. David #6 car changed his story a few times about what happened when he figured out the truth wasn't a good story, he knows he will be out at Roush and is mad that he has a top 5 team yet drives there car to a 20th place finish every week

3.The cup regulars drive there cars every week. Someone who drives a cup car 2 times a year is at a huge disadvantage to start with, even if they are better. Ask the GOAT (RC) if he thinks he can get on his bike and go win the next round of the motocross series this weekend.

    4. I like that Boris can say what he wants and not act like 95% of the other drivers who sound like a P.C. wuss on there interviews.

    5. I'm all for give and take the first 80% of the race. After that its racing not pull over because you can't pass me on your own.

    6. In the Boris and David deal he was 1/2 car up on his door and at the edge of the track until he realized the 6 was crashing. I would have held my line and let the 6 dump himself 10 out of 10 times on the last lap .

I was hoping Boris would have a slight Russian accent and that he ended the interview with “fists, I has them”.
