"Watermelon Truck" Returns At Daytona

Don't run over the seeds!
Brad Keselowski Racing announced today that the No. 19 Ford F-150 driven by Florida native Ross Chastain will be sponsored by the National Watermelon Association in the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway. The sponsorship comes as a joint venture with the National Watermelon Association and the National Watermelon Promotion Board. 2013 serves as the 100th anniversary of the National Watermelon Association. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series kicks off their season in Daytona on Friday night, February 22nd, at 8:00 P.M. EST.

The race will be the first of 15 for Chastain in 2013 for BKR. The National Watermelon Promotion Board has supported Chastain's efforts beginning in the Late Model ranks and is thrilled to continue their sponsorship at BKR this season in the NCWTS.
"Watermelons have always been a part of my life so to have the opportunity to be the one that represents the entire industry is an awesome feeling," said Chastain. "This is the NWA's 100th year. They and the NWPB have chosen to market the most popular year round fruit in the country with Brad Keselowski Racing and me. We are looking forward to a solid run in Florida at the end of the month."
"The National Watermelon Association is delighted that Ross Chastain will be kicking off our centennial year by driving the watermelon truck at Daytona," said Bob Morrissey, Executive Director of the National Watermelon Association. "Chastain performed very well for us during his rookie season, and now with a new seat in Brad Keselowski's truck, the future is even brighter for this young driver and the watermelon industry. We wish Ross and the team 'sweet' success at Daytona and a prosperous season."
"The National Watermelon Promotion Board is delighted to help sponsor Ross Chastain in the season opening Daytona race," said Mark Arney, Executive Director of the National Watermelon Promotion Board. "This is an excellent opportunity to get the message out on the great taste of watermelons. Watermelons are not only great tasting, but they are also good for you and can be enjoyed year round. Watermelons, just like Ross Chastain, are both proven winners and an unbeatable combination!"
