Silas Flying Rockingham Flag at Martinsville

Silas is primed for Martinsville
After a five-week hiatus, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tour returns to action this weekend at Martinsville Speedway. And while competing at Martinsville, Bryan Silas and the T3R2 team will promote the following weekend’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at The Rock presented by Cheerwine.

The historic one-mile oval has a long-time partnership with the Stuart, Florida-based driver and they hope Saturday’s Kroger 250 will give fans a glimpse of what they can expect at Rockingham Speedway on Sunday, April 14.

“I’m excited about Martinsville this weekend, but I cannot wait to get back to Rockingham,” said Silas, a former winner at the track. “I think the race will be one of the best of the season and I encourage fans who are stalling to purchase a ticket to go ahead and buy one, because they won’t be disappointed!”

Tickets, suite packages and camping accommodations for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at The Rock presented by Cheerwine are now available at rockinghamspeedway.com or by calling 910-205-8800. Saturday general admission tickets are $15 in advance ($20 at the gate), with grandstand tickets for Sunday's NCWTS event beginning at just $20.

Before Silas can concentrate on the second-annual NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at “The Rock,” he first must master the tricky paperclip oval of Martinsville. Recently, the Gary Cogswell-led team participated in a private test session at the 0.526-mile oval with satisfying results. The outcome has the 25-year old optimistic for this weekend.

“We learned a lot at the test,” offered the sophomore NASCAR driver. “Gary did a great job adjusting the truck throughout the day and our lap times showed that the adjustments made a difference. We’ve set a realistic goal for this weekend’s race and I think if we can keep ourselves out of trouble, we definitely can achieve it and have some momentum for Rockingham.”
